Great ATM! Convenient location and easy to find. Quick transactions with a variety of services. Clean and well-maintained surroundings. Occasionally experiences minor glitches, but overall a reliable choice for your banking needs.

Do not bank with First State if you plan on making any purchases outside of the country, or from any vendors that are outside of the country. They won't process any of your transactions and will tell you that it's because they have to "open your card up" to be able to purchase something from outside of the US. They won't notify you of this either, you just have to figure it out after repeated payment attempts and a lot of frustration. And then when they do "open your card up", what they might not tell you is that it's only "opened up" for a couple of days, and that after that you have to go through the whole process again. I was told that if I wanted to make a payment to a vendor in Canada that I could "try it now" on a Saturday because I'd only be able to make payments until Monday and then it would revert back to stopping all the transactions from going through. I asked if this is the same for business accounts and was told that businesses also run into this problem and are held by these rules. I find that to be utterly ridiculous, because as someone who has been in charge of a business account before, I know that payments might come in and out from many different countries at any given time. I cannot imagine having to call in to the bank each and every time I'd like to make a transaction involving another country if I was trying to run a business. This isn't a safety feature, it's an inconvenient problem. I didn't know that as a grown adult I wasn't allowed to buy something from a vendor in Canada without asking for permission from my helicopter-mom of a bank, but apparently that's the case. Thanks a lot FSB! You really saved me from making a $20 online purchase to an indie game dev. What would I do with all that personal financial freedom??? #sarcasm

Sometime last week I called First State Bank to get general information about checks for my small business. I spoke to Jen Vestul. This wonderful lady was SO friendly, professional, PATIENT (lord knows I cannot always quickly process information in my little brain, then I ask too many questions ), and caring. Jen helped me by answering ALL of my questions, she ordered my checks for me while on the phone, AND hooked me up with a discount! This call did last a long time, BUT she never lost her patience with me or my 4 year old (who needed her momma while on the phone). At the end, I was so happy and satisfied for Jen's attention towards me and happy to know my checks were on the way! This comment would not be complete without mentioning Carol Dickenson and Hailey Irelan. Sometime this week Carol (and Jen) called me to let me know my check order did not go through, Carol let me know they solved my issue and my checks would arrive at a speedier delivery! Like wow! I was very impressed to know they even noticed that and fixed my issue! Yet, they took the time to call me to simply inform me. Hailey Irelan went far and beyond when I called to request for Jen's full name, because I wanted to put Jen on the spotlight for this week's Employee Appreciation Week! Believe me, sounds easy but it was not lol. I sincerely apologize for making this comment so long, but I truly believe all these wonderful ladies deserve to be placed on the spotlight! First State Bank has some AMAZING and caring staff! Thank you!
