image Update 7/25/2020 They still haven't paid us a dime.
After sending them this letter they only want to pay my immediate expense. Not for my time. If i would have it delivered they would have had to pay someone for the down time of the delivery. But they dont want to compensate there costumer for there time. We are not worth anything to them other than writing the 160K check to them. There warranty coordinator (Reggie) thinks that people on pay roll delivering these trucks only make $10 to $12 per hour. Either a great politician he is or way out of touch with society. Maybe he is under payed himself.
On April 28th 2020 I flew down to Richmond Virginia to pick up a new bucket truck from your Factory Near Lynchburg, VA. I spent the night at my aunt’s house in Dewitt, VA. Bill Mitchell my salesman had given me John Dean’s contact info so when I was close, I could call him to meet me. On April 29th I drove to your factory that next morning. I met with a John Dean and signed paper work. He showed me a few things about the truck and I was on my way about 11am that morning. I made it all the way to mile marker 273.5 on 81 north of Mt Jackson, VA. There I stopped and filled up because I had burned thru that tank of fuel according to the fuel gage. As I was entering the on-ramp sometime before 2pm the engine warning lights went off. I had called John Dean since he was the closest contact to me. He said he would make some calls and also there should be a freightliner dealer near me. I am not going to bore you with my long dramatic story of not much help by your company Custom Truck One Source. But I did manage to call the Freightliner Facility to find out I needed a tow company to have them look at the truck. They did look at the truck after I arrived around 5:30pm. It was not until after dark they had decided they couldn’t figure out the problem and the Cummins tech in the morning would have to figure it out so, I had to spend the night in a hotel which I wasn’t crazy about at all. I quickly found out the closest hotel was 8 miles away with no taxi available, no uber and no ride since I was stuck at Weyers Cave, VA at the Freightliner facility. The dealer at the time wouldn’t even give me a ride. I called Bill Mitchell made a call and got the dealer to give me a ride to the hotel. I arrive around 9:15pm. I must say at this moment Bill Mitchell was the only person that I could tell that was truly trying to help me with taxi, and a ride at this time. He was just staying in touch with me during this process. The next morning, I got a call around 8:30am or so and found out the turbo gave out and parts were not available till the next day. I called Bill to let him know and he said give him a few minutes and see if he can get me another truck. Within 10 minutes he called me back he said he had one available and he would send some one to get me. I said don’t because that would take minimum two and a half hours till some one got to me and then two hours back to the factory. I will rent a car. Bill offered to get the car for me but I was already checking into it and would be quicker to do it myself. Within twenty minutes or so I was on the road. Long story short I was back on the road from the factory at 11am again 24hrs later. The main reason for this letter is two things. Being so close to the factory I didn’t have much or any support from your team, other than Bill Mitchell who was I felt was genuinely trying to help me out. The other is I occurred expenses like, left a full tank of fuel in the truck that was broke, hotel, rental car, rental car gas and at least 10hrs of my time which could have been spent at my business on the 30th instead of driving home. I am going to list these expenses and send copies of receipts and would hope you would go back to Freightliner and go to bat for me since you are the company that has the relationship with them.
