Southwest Montessori Academy

The entire staff at Southwest Montessori Academy create a safe, educational environment for the children they teach. Before attending, my son cried at most morning drop offs. After the first week, he was excited to join his class and happy every time at pick up. The independence and academic knowledge he gained is priceless.

Southwest Montessori Academy has been everything we ever could have hoped for in a school. Our daughter has grown academically, socially, and emotionally. Since being introduced to the Montessori philosophy in college I knew I wanted my future children to attend a Montessori school. SMA exceeded my expectations. When our daughter, in her first year at SMA (starting as a 3 year old) was able to identify continents, skip count, complete simple addition and subtraction in her head/on her fingers, understand place value and compare numbers, identify letters/sounds, read/write simple words, and was loving every minute of it we knew we had done the right thing to give her a strong academic foundation. Of equal, if not higher, value, she has grown emotionally and socially. Her confidence in interacting with peers is noticeably greater. She has strategies for calming herself, she shows empathy towards others. Our daughter is a sensitive, compassionate child and I am so thankful her learning environment mirrors that. Her teachers and all of the staff at SMA have made her feel welcomed and respected from the first time we toured the school. They have truly built a community that expands beyond the classroom. We are so thankful we discovered SMA and look forward to watching our daughter grow!

This school is simply amazing. I did a lot of research before choosing SMA for my son and now I completely understand the other raving reviews I read. Their commitment to the students is incredible. My son's confidence, communication, and academic skills have really soared during his time there. This school has been an amazing fit for my son and our family - and I am so grateful we chose SMA.

We are so happy with the experience our child is getting from Southwest Montessori Academy! To see her excited about school again and hearing her tell us all the things she is learning everyday has brought so much joy back that was missing over the past few months! We really appreciate all of the extra effort the teachers and staff put in as well with the frequent parent zoom meetings! It has helped us so much to connect with other parents and find new ways to incorporate the Montessori philosophy into our home and everyday life!

We were looking for alternative options to traditional daycare for both of our kids. What we found with Southwest Montessori was more than daycare. Both kids felt from the first moment at home. There was no more separation anxiety from our younger child, which made it easier for all family members. The professionalism, care, love, and knowledge of Southwest Montessori Academy staff is outstanding. In addition to teaching our kids, Southwest Montessori Academy also provides Positive Discipline classes to parents and workshops about Montessori learning methods, which easily can be implemented at home. We all benefited from the Montessori education. Now, both our kids successfully transitioned to public school. They have the tools for problem solving, the love for learning, good social skills, and know how to voice their opinions. Thank you Southwest Montessori Academy for all the tools you provided to make them excited learners.
