I love this church. The first time I walked through the doors, I knew this is where I wanted to be and felt like this was the perfect place for me to worship and praise our God.

I picked up my mail and saw this postcard about Stranger Things. I thought who could this be from as I was not happy to see it. And lo and behold I see it is from a church. My anger instantly gripped me. Yet another church using the world (that we aren't supposed to be conformed to) bringing in parishioners in this way. How dare a church that professes to teach Christ use such an evil, demonic and anti-Christrian TV show to draw people in! This is what we Christians fight against and here you are openly baiting newcomers with it in the hopes to, what, gain more bodies for the pews? Shameful! Have you no thought at all what God thinks of this stunt? Do you really think He would want the church to use evil to draw people in? The evil He will one day condemn and give justice to in judgement? Never!! God hates evil. You know that so why use evil? Because it's Halloween season? Shameful! You might as well put an image of Satan on it say come to church and learn about Jesus. That is what it looks like! You say you offer biblically based childcare? Hopefully any true discerning parent would see this church is to be avoided based on the postcard alone! Christians are not to have anything to do with "spookiness". There are no ghosts but demons that prey upon all the people of the world seeking to confuse us and destroy us. Luke chapter 16. Abraham says that if a person doesn't get the message of repentance from Moses and the prophets then dead men will not convince them. The Gospel is the most powerful message that can be uttered out of men's mouths. I'm not against postcards or the sermon topic. It's the way you advertise your sermon! Leaders will be held accountable for this. Are you not afraid of God's wrath? And furthermore after taking a look at your core values I'm even more disturbed! Never have I ever seen a Baptist church throw in money as part of its core values. Are you a prosperity church? It reads a little like it. The values read a lot like what Jesus can do for the church and not the other way around. And we wonder why the church in general has little to no influence on the world. The church does not conform to the world. Again I say shameful.
