As a Disabled Veteran it broke my heart to see our American Flag dishonored after a business down the street from my home closed. The flag was left on the pole in shreds. I approached the Supervisor of the demolition crew, T&W, Terry Keats last week about getting the Flag down so that I could take it to the VFW and have it properly disposed of. His man, Steve Petty even got up on a ladder and tried to free the rope. The electrical mechanism was frozen in place. Steve and Terry took my information and promised to call me when they took the pole down. Steve Petty called me this morning after Troy Willis from Casey Bertram Company arrived with the heavy equipment. See the videos below. These guys were amazing!! Thomas Revard from Casey Bertram also brought me a second flag that was rescued from the site. As I was leaving Herman, the owner from Casey Bertram arrived and gave me permission to post their good deeds. I called the VFW and we are making plans with them. Check back later for follow up. I am so grateful that all of these guys HONOR our Flag as the SPIRIT OF AMERICA. America is still alive and strong in our HEARTS!!!!
