Dr. Bjerke performed a very invasive low back surgery in February, 2024. My surgery included 2 titanium rods and 6 titanium screws, a large cage and a spacer between 2 vertebrae. He also had to remove the old hardware from a previous back surgery, which included a broken screw (old hardware) that was enmeshed in the bone itself. Dr. Bjerke was excellent. He took the time and explained every detail of what to expect during and after my surgery. He answered every question I had, and never appeared rushed in any of my appointments. I have worked in the healthcare field myself for 16 years and have seen physicians with good bedside manner, and some with terrible bedside manners. Needless to say, Dr. Bjerke has truly the best bedside manner I have ever experienced, not to mention his competence as a surgeon is impeccable. I had severe lower leg pain and weakness, and it is completely gone. My surgery was a complete success. My pain was well controlled throughout the entire experience. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Bjerke to anyone needing back surgery, especially if it is a complicated case. Thank you Dr. Bjerke, for giving me my life back!

I cannot say enough about this man!! I was in horrible pain for over a week! Went to another ER and was blown off ! A few days later I went to Norton Clark near my work because I couldnt take it any longer he came right over after the MRI showed a severe herniated disc in my neck .. he admitted me and did surgery the next day to replace the disc and I was 1000% better immediately after waking up! I have never experienced pain like that ever he listened to me and acted immediately!! I am forever grateful would recommend to anyone !! He is definitely my hero !!

Dr was very good, said I would get a referral for treatment at a pain center in 2-3 days. After a week I called and got no response from the office. After another week I went to the office and they promised to sent the referral . Waited 5 days and went down there agin, same response. Called the pain center and they had nothing sent to them. After 3 more days I went back, got the referral in my hand, picked up the MRI myself and drove it 45 miles to another hospital that saw me within a few days. I would give a zero to the office staff if possible.

Dr. Bjerke performed a spinal fusion that surpassed my expectations. Recovery may be slower than I would like, but it will eventually turn out just fine for me.

I was very apprehensive about having back surgery. I had heard so many bad stories. I saw 2 different back doctors before seeing Dr. Bjerke. Thankfully all 3 gave me the same diagnosis with the same surgery suggested. I really liked Dr. Bjerke. I have never waited very long in his waiting room and he has been very kind, very personable and informative with the surgery and expected results. I am 6 weeks out from surgery. Have had no more hip and leg pain since surgery. Took pain med for 4 days days only after surgery. I had 2 rods, 4 screws and a spacer put in. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing back surgery. Very skilled back surgeon in my opinion.
