We have been the customer with Hicksgas company since 2017. We have a lake house witch we winterize during winter so we use the gas only at the beginning and at the end of heating seasons as a secondary heat source in addition to main heat source which is wood burning fireplace . We havent refill our propane tank in past 2,5 years. This month we received the letter from the company that NOW they have a fee of 199$ if you dont buy a gas from them in period of 18 months and that they will bill us this amount in 45 days if we don't do so. This is a new policy because nothing like that is mentioned in contract we signed 7 years ago. First of all , it is totally unfair that the company doesn't give you 18 months to do so since the new policy have taken place ! Totally unfair !!! In addition they would charge 300$ for pumping out unused gas , the gas I once paid for !!!! Be aware of this if you on are a hunt for a new gas tank provider. We are done with this company , we will shop around to find more honest and fair company. Now I have to waste 40% of my tank in less than a month so I dont have to be charge 300$! For the gas I once paid them. Outrageous!
