This school is a blessing. My children transferred this year cause the other schools they was in was too rowdy. We had a bumpy start cause my children was behind from bouncing from school to school, (its hard to find a good school). I almost gave up til HAIT said bring them in and they have been working with my children every since. They have remarkably improved and gain confidence. No school is perfect but im amazed with this school and their efforts.

Please DON’T bring your babies to this school, especially if they have any type of learning disorders, prematurity and basically anything that your child may need extra help in school with. My child was born very premature, so there for he has some learning delays. I had to withdraw my child from this INSENSITIVE school, after being told that my child is just a BODY in the class room!! Mind you he’s only in kindergarten, and for this to be my sons FIRST year of school this is so disappointing, on top of he was only there for 2 months!! His kindergarten teacher was Ms. Eddings, and when I tell you she was so ready for my child to be out of her class, it showed. Knowing all the circumstances my child needed help with, she didn’t go above and beyond to help him period, she continuously gave him work that she knew he couldn’t do, or needed the extra help in. She even tried to compare my child to other children in the class, knowing he wasn’t the AVERAGE kindergartener as some of his peers. Ms. Eddings didn’t show any compassion for my child, when she knew he was going to be withdrawn from her class, and that school, all she said was bye and did we get all his things!! The PRINCIPAL is NO better, he felt the same way as my sons teacher, and didn’t show any compassion either. He was just as ready to get my child out of that school instead of providing the help, and other resources my child needed, aside from the help he is already receiving out of school. He told us (me and my sons father) that my son is just not ready for kindergarten, and he would recommend taking him out of that school. What ever happened to NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND.

I withdrew my son, due to concerns of bullying. This issue, was brought to Ms Lackey on January 17, and to this day, a call was never received from Ms Lackey, to speak to me regarding the issue, but several text were sent back and forth, and the carelessness really showed. I should have withdrew my child, when my son first told me that Ms Lackey grabbed his arm, and she pretended as though she was reaching towards him to get him to stand in line. There are no activities for the children, and communication is terrible! The teachers have an app to text you, but that’s as far as it goes with hearing from your child’s teacher, unless your child is problem child, which my child was not, so i guess that’s why Ms Lackey didn’t feel the need to speak to me directly. Unfortunately for Ms Lackey, she was dealing with a parent who is employed, and not using school as a babysitter, and i don’t have time to take off work to constantly try to resolve an issue that she’s getting paid to prevent. Pick up is unsafe, any stranger can pick your child up, because identification is not requested, and children are just sent to a sea of cars, with staff not ensuring each child goes to the correct vehicle. This was definitely a mistake for enrolling my child in this school, and i truly hoped the best for this school, but at this time, i don’t see this school lasting long.
