Al & Sally's Motel

We were taking a road trip to Cleveland and needed a convenient stopover. We chose Michigan City for its location near the lake. Al & Sallys is a cute place with clean rooms and the accoutrements you would hope for like large comfortable beds, nice t.v., mini fridge, microwave, and a coffee machine. We were minutes away from the shore and good restaurants. Yes, registration and payment are remote, but hardly inconvenient. We would stay at A & Ss again. Rooms: No carpeting (which we prefer), rooms are large, there is just enough furniture so your baggage can easily be kept in the room. The building is mid-20th century, so the bathroom is small and basic but very clean and well equipped.

Rooms are very very clean and retro looking would recommend anybody to stay here rooms are very large and quiet definitely will stay again

Great nights sleep @ Al & Sally's Motel. Very comfortable beds, hot coffee & tea in the room, plus a mini retro Frigidaire. Keyless entry & super helpful people when reserving our room.

Since new management, in efforts to "improve" they have destroyed the character, charm of this historic place. Instead of restoring or cleaning properly, They painted white over the vintage wood grain. No respect of the heritage of this place. And they drastically went up on rates which isn't justified with the swimming pool not repaired or available.The cheap and useless cosmetic changes are horrible. It's now has become typical, like a regular motel dump.

Loved it! They did a great job of turning a vintage road-side motel into a quaint, comfortable, modern place. Everything was clean, and I appreciated the easy-to-clean surfaces which helps it feel clean, too. Rooms: Room was nicely sized and decorated, with all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
