Home Services at The Home Depot

DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT FOR CONTRACTORS. Contacted Home Depot for a large bathroom remodeling project. They only use S.I.R. Home Improvements as their contractor. The customer service is horrible. It's been excuses and poor if any communication. Do your research on the companies and contact them yourself so you don't get stuck canceling your contractor 2 days before your start date because no one knows what's going on including the owner. We have remodeled our entire kitchen, complete gut job. We decided to go with home Depot, the man that helps us was very friendly and helpful, so I thought. We purchased about $3000+ on cabinets and around $2000+ on a granite counter tops. When we finally received our cabinets one was dropped in shipping (not home Depot ' fault) kraftmaid right away fixed our issues. But as we were looking at our beautiful new kitchen we began to notice some things, such as our cabinets were finished the ends that were being place together and not fully finished on the ends that are exposed. Actually the entire back of our island area was unfinished. Now I remember talking to the man about the children kicking that while at the counter. I had a run around and they finally at not extra cost to us fixed their mistake, but not completely when I received the wood panel it was not the same finish as the ends of the cabinet. We order natural finished hickory, there was no dark and light wood it was just a solid light wood. Ok I put it on anyways I wanted my kitchen back by now. So now our countertops, we were on our way to pick out our granite slab, when I was told it would be an additional $570 because again the over hang was not added into the original price. Ok paid for it no problem just extra expenses. Now we wait another month finally I have to call home Depot to check on my order and oh low and behold after I called I got a date for installation the very next day! Hummm. Now we had to order the 4 inch back splash of the same granite our chioce, but today weeks later I get a phone call from home Depot telling me they were checking on my order and some how they had "paperwork" issues and they are putting a rush on things. I appreciate the lady at home Depot looking into it this time, but I have had such a headache from one mess up to the other! I would recommend going elsewhere and get real professionals.

Like Home Depot for parts and hardware, but I would avoid then for home repairs, upgrades, and installation. We went through them for a granite countertop and stone backsplash and I would not call it a positive experience.
