Beacon Hill Apartments

Incredibly difficult to contact or get maintenance. Ive even sent a maintenance request and been completely ignored. The building stinks and stays dirty round the clock with trash and MASSIVE potholes in the parking lot. Ive had tire problems because of the debris in the parking lot. All of these things could be fixed or handled better.

My roommate and I are both college students attending Ball state University. On move in day our refrigerator was not working, dishwasher was in pieces (Screws and washers laying inside), and our microwave doesnt even fully open but instead chips paint off the walls. We put in a total of 3 maintenance requests, several visits to the head office, and countless phone calls. We are almost a month into our lease and things still are not fixed. Its been a struggle not having a place to store food. My roommate and I ended up buying a cooler and ice to keep our meats and cheeses cold. We bought ice everyday for 3 weeks and ongoing. We need help.

If I could give this apartment less stars, I would. This was my first apartment, so I was not expecting it to be great. But it was really bad. My move- in was the worst. I moved in and nothing was cleaned, the AC was off and they had just painted so there was paint DRIPPING off the walls. Our entire stay, the AC never worked past the first floor. My roommates couldnt even sleep there because it got so hot. Maybe the insulation was bad? The dishwasher had mold in it, as well as the floor under the kitchen sink (as pictured). This was from a leak under the sink. The second picture is my foot stepping on a soft spot in the bathroom. This was never fixed even though someone could have fallen through during our time there. The floors were dirty and I had to mop them all down. The oven was also dirty as well as the cabinets. One smoke detector was hanging off the wall upstairs when I moved in. Some of our window locks were broken, but we never asked to get them fixed because I just gave up. At the very end of our stay, we had a bat or some animal in the wall upstairs on the third floor. Nothing was done about it and we went several nights hearing it flutter in the wall. Also had some bugs come out of the vents, so I doubt they were ever cleaned. I am very disappointed and I wont be renting from here again. This was at the beacon hill apartments. Hopefully other BSU rental locations are better. I wish this location wouldve worked out, because I loved its proximity to campus.

I was looking for a place to live off campus next year, and have always heard good things about Beacon Hill. I have friends who currently live here, and wanted to as well. Then, I heard that BSURentals took over, so I will no longer be applying to these apartments. It is such a shame that a great place like Beacon Hill got taken over by a terrible company. If you look at BSURental's Google Reviews, you will see why I will never live at their properties. Too many horror stories, and first hand knowledge of them from my friends renting from them. Sorry Beacon Hill, I had higher hopes for you.
