        The service was very good. The food was decent, but not great. The steak I got WAS cooked perfectly, which was nice. However, for the price ($37, not including drinks or appetizers), it was pretty average. Four out of the five of us shared this opinion after going here for my wife's birthday dinner. I had been to this place about 6 years ago and had the same experience then, as did my wife. We just thought we'd give it another try and were a bit disappointed. As one or two other reviewers pointed out, there was also a stinky smell throughout the restaurant, and it could've definitely had better ventilation.

        Amazing, just amazing. 13oz New York strip stuffed portobello mushrooms, Ceasar salad, and fried onion strips. The sauce that the mushrooms came in was on point. The steak was perfectly seasoned and well worth the cost. Went in about an hour before closing and received impeccable service. Well done.

      In 1999 Stineys closed, but was reopened and transformed into McGraws Steak Chop & Fish House under the new owner, Todd McGraw. McGraws carries on some of Stineys legacy through their delicious food and family-friendly atmosphere, but has set a new gourmet standard for steak and wine selections. Today, McGraws flourishes as one of the premier establishments in Lafayette and is proud to serve its superior cuisine at this beautiful and historic riverfront location.
