Lazy L Lake Campground

Nice campground with friendly management. I'll list the pros and (not cons, but "room for improvements") Pros: cheap primitive campsite ($20 a night in April 2024); outside of a major metro area; well-kept/maintained; new docks for fishing; beach area; kayaks available; nice deck area for sitting and having lunch; store for supplies; fire pits and new picnic tables in the primitive camping area and elsewhere. "Room for improvements:" only port-a-potties for bathrooms except for a small men's and women's toilet and shower (one for each) at the front entrance (could use another built washroom nearer the primitive sites--perhaps that is planned); trains were loud and plenty late until the evening (not sure what could be done about that); canada geese are going to be loud as well during certain seasons. Otherwise, a pleasant stay. Would visit again if in the area.

Great location. Only 3 miles from downtown Terre Haute and yet in a nice, peaceful pocket. Lake is lovely and there are water activities possible. Price is reasonable. No sewers--but there is a main dump station that's a bit tricky to access for big rigs. I have never seen power lines hanging from poles--it scares me to think someone could back a rig into this power line but I scare easily. No wifi. No welcome map or information. The location, however, is key.
