I had a horrible experience with this counseling group. I had worked with Rob Kern for nearly 3 years when he unethically terminated me via email, while knowing I was in a crisis with limited funds and no insurance for working with any other counselor. He did not follow the ethics code for counselors nor how Jesus would want a person to act towards someone who is hurting. His own issues apparently impacted his treatment of me, and he had multiple assumptions about things I'd said that caused him to view me negatively. Deirdre Rausch, the director of the center, did not exhibit good leadership in any of this. She supported Rob's actions and didn't challenge his unethical behavior. These events occurred at the one year anniversary of the death of the person I loved most. It's been 6 years since this happened, and it still hurts me deeply. It was a betrayal on a level like no other. A therapist is supposed to be safe, trustworthy, and ethical. Rob is not. Every therapist with whom I've shared this story has said I could report it; one therapist even nearly reported it himself. I did make a report of ethics violations, but I felt guilty in doing so because of my being a Christian and Rob being a Christian. I didn't cooperate with the investigation because of that guilt, so the state of Indiana dropped it. To this day, there have been no consequences for Rob and no genuine repentance or apology to me for how horribly he harmed me. It would be the Christian and ethical thing to do--to seek reconciliation with someone who has been harmed by your actions. But Rob hasn't and likely never will. Be careful if you work with Rob or Deidre, and be careful working with anyone through this center. Find a therapist who actually follows the ethics code. You won't be safe being vulnerable here.

My 4 year old sees Lauren and she is absolutely amazing ! She cares so much for him and my son enjoys talking with her so much. Hes usually very hesitant with people and I love that he has someone he feels he can talk to. The office staff is always extremely friendly and timely with any questions or concerns I have as well.
