Hittle was subcontracted to complete the landscaping of our newly built house. Overall, I would say the job was mediocre at best. The most disappointing part is that we have significant grading issues on one side of our property and the ground is constantly wet and spongy. We have submitted multiple requests to have it fixed but nothing has been done. They were also responsible for installing our sump pump system and we have had nothing but problems. It completely stopped working 3 months after moving in and we ended up with water in our basement. They claimed to fix it at that point but within months, the system completely failed a second time. Even though we are still within our warranty period, we hired a different company to come in to fix the problem correctly. We just want a yard that we can enjoy and a dry basement in our brand new home. Hittle has definitely not been interested in providing either, even though they happily took our money.

Hitter pulled up to Kroger and bought all their cheaper pumpkins so they can resell at twice the price!!! They filled their entire pickup truck and wiped Kroger out. Shame on you Hittle!!!!

We have a brand new home, and the sod that the Hittle crew put in looks like Frankenstein. I had the displeasure of watching them lay sod for the house that was being built across the street and now I know why our sod was done so haphazardly! I watch them throw the rolls of sod down and kick them across. They never Made sure that they were tamped down or made sure that the pieces met. Our side also is different colors and the crabgrass is rampant throughout. We were told because they just used so that was not from the same cut. We have different types of grass and different colors.. Also, they planted an American oak in the middle of our yard plus in our landscaping less than 6 feet from our foundation. With a little bit of research we found out that that tree grows to be over 38 feet high and 12 feet in diameter. I could not believe that a landscape company would not know that the roots of that tree will crack the foundation! Our construction manager had them move the tree, but they put the same tree in the parkway! So now the city of Westfield will have the correct sidewalk and curbs to deal with down the road.
We have heard from many people how Hittle once was a premier landscape company, but now put quantity over quality and we have a yard that is pure testament to that. I would run very fast and very far away from any project that Hittle is doing.
Their lack of professionalism is going to cost us a tremendous amount of money repairing the shod workmanship in our yard.
