Horrible property manager, doesn't care about the residents. Mistakenly didn't go over my lease which gave them permission to come over any time as long as they have 24 hours notice. Now they come over like twice a week to do apartment showings (during a pandemic) without giving us any time to clean or prepare. They tried to raise our pet rent twice by saying we aren't already paying it, which we were. Maintenance can take literally 2 months to show up, like when I contacted them about a bat getting into the apartment through a hole in the wall. Overall do NOT recommend. If you do go with them, go over the lease carefully. EDIT: Do not be swayed by their attempt to "resolve" it with me. They didn't even do so much as apologize, and what's worse are trying to charge me $1,000 for cleaning after I moved out.

They ultimately did the right thing, and I enjoyed living here, but I'm disappointed landlords like Haverkamp try to retain deposits even if it's wrong. I know many landlords who would be ecstatic to get the unit back in the condition I left it in. I shouldn't have to fight to receive my full deposit back. You have no right to withhold my deposit just because you don't want to spend the normal cost to turn around an apartment (i.e. normal wear and tear). I understand most college students don't care it's only a couple hundred dollars but it's not right. The burden of proof per Iowa law is on the landlord. Had it gone to court I would have won due to the video and photo evidence I retained when leaving the apartment and it would have cost the landlord twice the amount plus court costs.
