This company which was previously great no longer deserves even one star, perhaps one finger would better represent my opinion. We took out life insurance policies over twenty years ago. The agent came to our home, was very well familiar with all the information, and we signed up for full life policies with a monthly premium automaticaly deducted from our checking accounts. Over the years if I had any questions, I could call him on his cell phone and he always picked up.  Earlier this year when we were considering reducing the amount of our coverage benefit, we could not contact our agent. I had to call the Springfield office, who informed me they had a new agent covering our accounts. Truth is, they must have fired or transferred our agent, and now had farmed out the services which used to be provided by qualified agents to outside contractors. They NEVER  ANSWER THEIR OFFICE PHONES, or even their cell phones.  When they finally call you back, they can never answer your questions without checking with MA Mutual. They have to check with MM to get the info we need emailed or mailed to us. They say they do not have the power to do anything themselves, but we have to go through them to get any changes made. We decided not to make any changes. Then they did not take the monthly deduction from our checking account the next month, but mailed us a quarterly bill for a payment. We called  MM directly to get the monthly deduction from our checking account restored. We had never ordered that change, nor authorized the change to be made.  It took an hour on the phone to the office in Springfield,MA. to complain about that issue, and they said we should pay the bill, and they would change it back. Today, we received a statement saying they had taken two payments from our checking account. We could have been bouncing checks if we did not have a cushion in the account. We called again, and after another hour on the phone, we have supposedly fixed the problem they started. However, they refused to credit our checking account back the extra payment they had taken, and said all they could do was to credit it for our payment two months from now, after which everything will be back on track. We asked for an email to confirm that promise.  We have not seen that come yet.  If you are going to be a customer of this company, I advise you to carefully examine your communications from them, and pray you never need customer service.  I am so relieved I never went through with other investments with this company. If you did, I feel bad for you already.

GREED, GREED, GREED.  MM has, in the last few months, fired hundreds of employees.  Folks who have been there for years and were loyal.  Want to know what this EVIL company is doing now?  They are bringing in new people.  WAIT.  They are making current employees train these new people for THEIR jobs.  Then they will be FIRED.  If they do not train these new folks, they lose a substantial fiduciary benefit.  They can't win.Already employees are on pins and needles not knowing from day to day if they'll be let go.  Can you imagine not feeling secure in your job on an everyday basis?  You get up in the morning wondering if this will be my last day.  I am referring specifically to MM's Springfield, MA location.  I am not aware of the goings on of their other locations.  It's just not right.  I would NEVER have dealings of any sort with MM, EVER!
