Nice store with a huge selection of western wear and riding gear. Employees were great but tried a bit TOO hard to be helpful. A little pricey, but not out of line for the quality of goods they carry. Location isn't excellent - in an industrial park off a frontage road from Rt. 30 outside Ames city limits. Lots of parking on a gravel lot.

Love this store have always had a great experience until over this past week. Totally understand when things happen and you need to make things work. However, bringing a sick kid into your public work place isnt the wises idea. The manager had brought her sick daughter in and as we were checking out she was on the counter crawling and making a scene. She fought over our debit card with her mom and said Ive got a runny nose and cough Im going to make you sick. And she indeed did, I currently have a 101 degree temp. It was very frustrating and unprofessional.

Nice place I'm from Arizona my fiance and I just picked up a couple of things a hat and perfume and the young lady was helpful and nice great experience will be returning for the specials

UPDATE: Nothing was resolved, she blamed having to bring her kid in because 2 employees were sick, Im sure there were other employees who could have came in. Now my friend, her boyfriend, along with mine are now sick ALL with the same thing. Extremely upset with the management, I feel like we would have gotten a better outcome had I called the owner. NEVER coming back to this store. Nice store! Kinda pricey but it is also a tack shop. Decent customer service till the past weekend. I had purchased an item and the cashier rang my card once two many times, which proceeded with fraud calls from my bank. Then it said the amount went through when their card reader said it didnt, cashier then had to call up their frantic manager with a sick kid to help. She then set her kid (around 4yrs old) on the counter and proceeded to take my card, out of her moms hand, bending over the counter in our faces (after we had already stepped back), coughing at us and deliberately blowing in our faces. My friend got sick a day after and is running a high grade temperature and cannot even get out of bed. With my card situation it did not charge me twice but she did say she was going to follow up to make sure it didnt and never called when she said she was. She didnt call me until my friend wrote a review. After my friend wrote a review, she repetitively called her and left voice mails each time, knowingly she was sick. They never once asked us for a discount, or any incentive to go back. I suppose its time to find a better tack store.
