Never open an account with this bank! My friend hates writing reviews but her accounts were hacked so she wanted to close those and open new ones. She was able to open new accounts but they kept open the old ones causing her to lose all of her money. GICU never did anything about and never once apologized for THEIR mistake!!! They threatened her multiple times and when she wanted to close her accounts entirely, they said no. Horrible experience for her!

This review is not reflective of GICU as a whole, but rather this specific location. I went in toward the end of February to get a debit card as I was leaving for vacation in March. Went through the whole process of signing the documents they needed from me, and the woman (cannot remember her name) updated my information, etc. Card wasnt there by the time I was supposed to leave for vacation but I thought nothing of it. This past week, i still hadnt received anything so I went to message the services department. Come to find out, my card was never ordered. Absolutely frustrating as I spent a good chunk of time at the CU going through everything, updating my info, etc. I am not sure who dropped the ball on this, but there needs to be better emphasis on customer service. My experience at the Ames branch has been vastly different in a positive way, so it seems this particular branch has some areas for improvement.
