Hampton Inn & Suites Ankeny

Only problem was that I was told when making reservations for two nights,the charge for a pet would be $75.00. But at checkout they billed $75.00 a night. Ridiculous.

We arrived at the hotel around 3:30 for our 3:00 check-in. We were notified that our room wasn't ready yet, but that it would be shortly. We were part of a large group with a lot of young children that had traveled from out of town and been on the go with our kids since early that morning. We were all camped out in the lobby and pool (which was the only small saving grace). -- An hour went by, still no available room, another hour went by, still no available room. The last of us didn't get into our rooms until 6:00, 3 hours after check-in!!! We understood that the 3 staff members working were doing their best, the most disappointing thing about the whole situation is that no manager was present, despite the front desk gal attempting to get the manager to come in and assist. Also disappointing was that when I called the 800# and spoke with someone, I was told I'd get a call back from a manager within 3 days and I never received that call either. There's clearly a serious lack of management not only at the location, but from the organization as a whole.
