**************VETERANS BEWARE!!!! ********** An Attorney named Bob at this firm used many of my service-connected disabilities for what I believe was an inaccurate representation of who I am as a person. He finished his line of questioning using many of my service connected disabilities (which I have/had been getting help for - and am much better now) as well as almost my entire list of medications and problems those could cause..... and at the end when my life was in shambles he was sure to smugly thank me for my service. Additionally - I am not an attorney, but I did represent myself because I didn't have the money for one. So I did the best research I could and from what I could tell - there were no grounds to keep my son from me based on what was filed - The judge immediately "threw that piece out" (not sure of the technical term) But it brings up an interesting question- why did I know that, after vigorous days of googling and this attorney seemingly didn't ? Is that who you want handling your case? So basically you're out of luck if you get help because this firm will use it against you and same if you don't get help because then it looks like you don't care to get better! (BUT THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!!) He later said something to the affect of - it isn't personal - it is just a job. Which may be the case to him. but to the clients he represents and those he exploits by utilizing medical disabilities, it does make it personal. It is their families, their lives, literally the most important people in one's life. He seemingly has no problem ripping that apart. (BUT THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!!) In my opinion - what this attorney did is immoral, wrong, and should never be allowed. Having a health issue (specifically ones obtained in the line of duty in service to one's country) should not be used against a service member. ESPECIALLY when they are trying to get help. (BUT THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!!) This attorney seemingly has no problem taking a veteran to court and kicking them when they are down. The first thing that was done was file a protective order, keeping me from seeing my son for weeks. A total blindside to me. (BUT THANKS FOR YOUR SERVICE!!) They then tried to keep my less than 2 year old son from me for an ENTIRE YEAR!!! You may choose to support this firm if you wish - but I hope you re-consider and I hope this firm moves forward in life in a more ethical manner and stops perpetuating the stigma behind mental health. In General as a society we don't say a mother is unfit because she medically can't produce milk, or if she medically has to be in a wheelchair, or if she medically has to take prescriptions for ANY NUMBER of ailments. But for some reason we seem to accept it as a society when it is a male with mental health needs after deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. The firm gets one star because of the following: Many service members struggle to find that sense of community they've grown accustomed to. The tribe of people that in spite of their own feelings about you as a person - love you enough anyway to literally protect your life and lay down their own down for someone they might not even really like. I would've done it for any of my team. But now you gave me a new mission. A new "enemy," and a new purpose. It will be my personal mission for the rest of my life that no other service member gets treated this way. I intend to ensure legal representation for any post 9-11 veteran for as long as I live and for as long after I'm gone as possible. Thanks for sparking the passion Bob - and Please spare any service member your "thanks for their service." Trust me you've done enough. “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.:†—Ephesians 5:11 Thanks for the new mission Bob
