We have stayed at the Highlander many times over the last few years! In the past everything was excellent!! This stay was less than satisfactory. The prices went up and their offerings we so much less. The positives. The service was good the bar tenders were great. The food in the restaurant was very good. Now for the negative! We had reservations for 7:30 we didn't get our food for at least 45 mins. The tv in our room is not a smart TV so chrome casting isn't an option. There was no refrigerator in our room so we were unable to take our leftovers with us. We were not informed at check in that they no longer serve breakfast! They offered a grab and go! Their "grab and go" sucked! Small prepackaged waffles half the size of my palm and kids squeeze yogurt and coffee. That's it! They offer brunch at an additional fee. When you're paying $200 a night you expect breakfast! It was 11:30 and my wife and were getting ready when house keeping BANGED on our door for several seconds we had the do not disturbed sign up and the deadbolt thank God because he tried to get in when we were undressed. Unfortunately we will not be going back. This was my wife's favorite hotel and our preferred get away. Do better Highlander! I'm wondering if your partnership was the cause of this and I'm sorry to say it's disappointing!

Gorgeous renovated hotel with fun historical decor. Has lots of great amenities for the whole family and great food. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog.

Would be a 0 if I could post it. Went for Easter Brunch. Arrived to a packed lobby. Had a 12:30 reservation. Was told it would be AT LEAST A 1 hour wait for our table and other people waiting told us theyd already waited over 1 hour.

My friends and I watch the Iowa womens game at The Highlander. Josie was our bartender and she was delightful. Good service, good food, very friendly. The women just beat LSU so were all happy here in Iowa City. Very highly recommended from a local Hawkeye fan. The remodel is great too! Theyve done a good job!

This was quite the surprise, and what a gem! On a cross country road trip, and deciding to hang the night up early instead of pushing through, due to weather, a quick call to Dillon, and we were all set. Showed up 40 minutes later and everything was set up for us. Such a cool place with a great vibe. Everyone is welcoming, and hospitality is at the forefront of what the staff displays! Wish it wasn't just a late night drive through stay. This place has a lot to offer. Shout out to Dillon for making this easy, and throwing the carpet down like we were rock stars!
