Not once in my life have I had my teeth cleaned without being poked, picked, or raked across the gums in the process, cut marks from the various picks used. Pain from the gum (depth charge blast readings) were normal during the white knuckle ride and aching for a week during the healing process...
I can tell you of a professional with a surgeon, like accuracy, that did not hurt me, even after 4 years, to avoid the cleaning process... I could have taken a nap...
