They were good people to rent from while i was there but when i moved to Utah, it was past Iowa law of 30 days to get my deposit back. They knew the day i left was August 3rd, she even text me the day of and i said yes i was gone. Had they gotten the deposit back to me before the law says, there would be no issue. But state law says a full refund is to be given back past 30 days from the day I move out. She could've mailed it to my old address in LeMars cause I had a forwarding address applied to my place in Utah. 10 days had gone by from the day I moved, the 13th, and I hadn't heard anything, then realizing she didn't have my address here I text it to her. I got a reply back the 17th of August that she got it. She had 3 weeks to still check my deposit back, which should be plenty of time. I didn't get my deposit back till Sept.18th with over 3/4 of my deposit deducted for hiring a cleaning company to clean the apartment. Over $450 to have a cleaning company come in and clean? I'm beyond upset and will be taking action and going to a judge.
