image My husband and I really enjoyed our overnight stay in this hotel this past Sunday. First of all, I love that it's located closer to my grandmother's home than the place she had recommended for our last visit. Then, the concierge Kristie (sorry if I misspelled your name) was not only very helpful when we called ahead of our arrival, but she also presented each of us with a little bag of snacks and a mini bottle of water while going over our room location and the amenities. That thoughtful touch is something I've never experienced in my 50+ years.
As for our stay, we had the one bedroom suite with a sleeper sofa. Although we'd seen the kitchen mentioned in the description, we didn't look at all the photos of the suite. So we weren't expecting it to have appliances, including a dishwasher, or dishes and cookware like a household kitchen. The overall suite is bigger and better than some apartments we've seen!!
And normally, we check out of hotels without partaking in the complimentary breakfast, but decided to visit theirs to save us an extra stop. I don't know if they ever offer the typical buffet of pre-cooked scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage, but we didnt see any of that. Instead, they have pearl sugar waffles, oatmeal with a fixings station, breakfast croissandwiches, muffin-sized jalapeno cheese and egg souffles with assorted salsas and sauces, scones, and more that I didnt look at. The only thing I would've changed about my meal is that I would've skipped the syrup on my waffle. From the "Pearl" in the name, I thought they were referring to the name brand of the batter mix, not the sugar pearls baked into them.
Now, with all the good stuff said, we do have some suggested improvements. First, please unclog the tub drain; water pooled at our feet during both of our showers and was slow to drain out even after we'd turned off the faucet. That pooling likely contributed to making the tub floor slippery enough that my husband nearly fell. Which leads me to suggestion #2 -- safety strips on the tub floor to help prevent slips. Finally, please either remount the shampoo bottle in that suite's shower or take the other 2 down and put them on the shelf with the shampoo.
While we would love to see these improvements implemented, they will not keep us from staying here again whenever we're in town.
