My family hired Robert B. Deck to defend my father during his case and for his trial back in 2008-2009. I was only about 18 years old or younger at that time but I will never forget how unprofessional and unorganized he was. He showed up late to the trial and he had paperwork everywhere and papers all unorganized. He looked nervous and he didn't look confident in representing my Father. He didn't ask questions he didn't object to much of anything, he didn't do much of anything as far as I can recall. I can not express the pain I felt that day. I will NEVER forget the feeling it felt like, like someone ripped my heart still beating right out of my chest. When the judge told my father he was being sentenced to 30-32 in prison, I experienced my first panic attack that same moment. I couldn't breathe I went numb i just felt the life leaving my body for a long moment. Its a pain I wish on nobody. A man is supposed to be innocent until proven guilty but for my father he didn't even get a fair chance at proving his innocence. He was guilty in the eyes of everyone against him even the jury didn't play a fair part that day. How could they when days before his trial they read a similar case like my dad's that was shown everywhere on the news and newspaper. My dad had no fair trial. How could his lawyer not prove his innocence when all the evidence showed he was clearly innocent and nothing tied him with what he was being accused of? How could you lose a case so badly when you have everything to help your client Right there in front of you. I have had to watch my father lose both parents and siblings and many loved ones while he's been sitting behind bars helpless not being able to do anything. Over 15 year's without our father. Not only did Mr. Deck lose my father's trial but he signed My father's affidavit for my dads appeal instead of having My father sign it himself and because of his carelessness my dads appeal got denied and the court wouldn't hear it. My father was forced to file a post conviction just to be able to have a chance at an appeal. A process which should have only taken 30 days took a whole year. My dad and our family have been ever since to this very day fighting my dad's case. I Do Not recommend anyone hire Mr. Deck. Please DON'T.. if you truly love your loved ones. Find a different route. I am to this very day over 15 year's later still disappointed in this lawyers ability to defend my dad. I will forever be disappointed in the years not only taken from my dad but our entire family as well.
