image We intended to stay for only two days we loved it so much we added another night. Adrian was more than accommodating. We started off at the maimie sweet which was a beautiful large romantic suite. The bed had the option to soften or firm which once we got the right spot we slept like we were babies straight out of the womb. However not long because sleeping too long would mean missing Adrian's breakfast which would be a terrible crime. Her French toast is the absolute best. I wanted to take home the food but settled for her cook book she seems at the office and gift shop. Tried out the first recipe when we got back home (the grits casserole) and I was in heaven!
Our last day we ended up switching rooms which was absolutely painless. We stayed that night in the parker suite which had an adjacent entertainment room with a pull out bed. The pull out/couch was so comfortable almost fell asleep on that but didn't waste money not to end up in the king bed which was also so comfortable! I would live there if I could! I didn't want to leave but duty called! We were there for my 30th birthday and sixth wedding anniversary.
Abilene is a beautiful town. We went to a few of the museums, the Russel Stovers store and walked the park right behind the bed and breakfast. The best pizza place is just down the road. If it wasn't bipolar weather during our stay I would absolutely have walked there and back.
I plan to go back soon.
Nearby activities: Eisenhower museum, worlds largest belt buckle
Walkability: Only a few blocks to some great food options for dinner
Food & drinks: Great breakfast!!

image Our stay was for a single night. We chose the Parker Suite so our son could use the trundle bed.
We quite enjoyed the designs and decor. Our suite was spacious. Plenty of room around the bed for movement and luggage. The adjacent room was nicely designed spacious for gathering together, watching a movie etc. We liked the VHS movie collection! Our bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Breakfast was amazing. Adrian is an amazing chef! Coffee, appetizer, primary course... everything was wonderful.
Thank you for accommodating us on our last minute trip! It was easy to find, easy to go to and from. We even drove a giant F250 and parked fine. We would love to stay again.

image I had an overall positive experience, but I don't think my wife and I would stay here again.
The inn is so cute and charming! Clean, and well taken care of. Breakfast was delicious and kindly served as well.
The room, though, was disappointing. Again, so charming. The problem was the bed was downright uncomfortable. Both my wife and I had trouble getting comfortable. I had trouble sleeping because I could not get my neck and back in a good position with the bed and pillows.
The location was alright - the bnb is close to the Eisenhower park (lovely), the World's Largest Belt Buckle, and swimming pool. However, I would not describe it as walkable to the Eisenhower museum or downtown Abilene (I think most of my friends would rather drive).
Rooms: Our room was really cute! The bed, however, was simply not comfortable. Same with the pillows. I really wanted to enjoy this room, but I had trouble sleeping because I could not get my neck and back comfortable on the bed and pillows.
Nearby activities: Near the Eisenhower park, swimming pool and World's Largest Bekt Buckle.
Walkability: The bnb is walkable to the Eisenhower park, which is nice. It is not really walkable to restaurants and the Eisenhower museum though (it would be a longer than most of my friends would do).

image Abilene is a cool little Midwestern town with a lot of history, the Eisenhower Museum, many neat old homes, and to top it off it has one of the most charming B&Bs in America. We recently spent two nights, one in the Eisenhower Suite, and one in the Hazlitt Suite; both of which provided a nice balcony overlooking the park. The sound of pickleball, cicadas, and children playing was very pleasing and brought back memories of my Midwetern upbringing. The rooms were clean, the furnishings comfortable, and the AC nice and cool (we were there in August, mid-90s and 95% humidity). But the delight was Adrian, the hostess, cook, and bottlewasher. She very carefully explained what would be provided, what was available, places in town to go for dinner, and how things worked throughout the house. Breakfasts werre wonderful. I am gluten intolerant, which she enquired about when we made reservations, and she delivered real nice quality and tasty breakfasts. Quality all the way around, and better yet, very good value. We would love to come stay for Halloween, as it sounds like their street really knows how to enjoy the holiday and treat the kids. Book it and you will love it as we did.
