I don't normally write negative reviews, but I was disappointed in the way I was treated by the worker who came to our house to do our carpet cleaning. I believe his name was Roland. In the midst of COVID-19, my husband and I have tried to be conscious of having anyone who comes into our house wear a mask, whether it is a family member or service worker. No one has ever taken issue with this. I wore a mask when I answered the door, and I kindly asked if he would put on a mask, too. He immediately refused, saying no one had ever asked him to do that this entire year, and that if I wanted him to, then he would just leave. I am still amazed that someone would turn down a paying customer for such a small request. His only excuse was that "this is a sweat-producing job." Well, construction workers and carpenters wear masks all the time to protect themselves from dust and chemicals that come with the job. Cooks are sweating in the kitchen wearing masks, rubber gloves, aprons, etc. The carpet cleaning itself was fine, but I don't think a request such as a piece of cloth over the nose and mouth is such a big ask when it has been stated over and over by medical professionals that it is what everyone should be doing right now. The worst part isn't even that he didn't want to wear one but that he made me feel like I was being completely unreasonable when I really feel like all things considered, he was being unreasonable--and to a paying customer at that. If we weren't desperate to get our house on the market ASAP, I would have been glad to let him refuse my business, but given that we are in a time crunch, I let him in anyway. I'm sure not every worker from this company would not be like this, but it honestly started my day off on a really bad note and made me not want to call them again. It made me think that if they are willing to turn away business that easily, they must not need my business at all.
