Disappointing Experience and Delayed Refund Process I recently terminated my 10+ years of loyalty with American Family Insurance, a decision that was long overdue. Upon exploring alternative insurance options, I discovered I had been overpaying significantlyalmost twice the market rate. Despite voicing my concerns and requesting a reduction in coverage for one of our four cars, my agent not only ignored my plea but also continued charging me for full coverage. To add to the frustration, the subsequent month saw another unwarranted increase in my premiums by an additional $100. This proved to be the last straw, prompting me to request an immediate cancellation of both my home and auto insurance policies. Unfortunately, the dissatisfaction did not end there. Post-cancellation, American Family Insurance withdrew the hazardous insurance payment the day after I terminated my policy. The refund process, however, has been far from seamless. Their repeated assurances that "the check is in the mail" have only served to further delay the return of my funds. This delay is not only inconvenient but also carries tangible consequences as it adversely impacts my escrow account, resulting in an unexpected increase in my mortgage payment. Such an experience leaves me deeply disappointed, as I expected a smoother transition and prompt resolution from a company I had been loyal to for over a decade. I hope that American Family Insurance addresses these issues promptly, providing not only the deserved refund but also a more transparent and customer-centric approach in the future.
