This is a great (and affordable!) hidden gem. The park has historic, natural, and botanical attractions generously scattered across the very-walkable park. Our family stopped here to break up a long drive in early spring and were incredibly glad we did. The only trouble came from the kids fighting about whether the train car, old blacksmith shop, the koi pond, or the flower kaleidoscope was the best thing.

I visited at 8 am on Saturday. I saw someone open the gate and never saw another person the entire hour I was there.
