DONT go to this place. They charge you $185 at your first appointment just to fill out paperwork and see the surgeon for 2 minutes. Then after that theyll hit you with the shocking news that you have to pay 60 percent of surgery cost upfront and that your insurance will reimburse you. If they would have told me over the phone that I would have to pay over $1000 upfront I wouldnt have wasted $185 consulting with them. SCAM

I have no problems with the procedure, its the aftermath of waiting for my money back that I have a problem with. My daughter have her wisdom teeth pulled out on January 5th, the insurance paid them on February 8th, I called them on February 22nd to see when I would be getting my refund, the lady that answered said that I should be getting it that week or the next week. Needless to say, I received nothing, no check and no call. I called again on March 14th, they told me the office manager is out and that shell call me to let me know whats going on, no check and no call again. Called again on April 6th, office manager is out until Tuesday, this time theyll marked it as urgent for her to call me, again no call on Tuesday or Wednesday. By this time, Im running out of patience and Im frustrated that no one would tell me why they are keeping my money and the insurance money for 2 months now. Called on Thursday and finally the office manager answered the phone, told me my insurance overpaid and that she is calling them to see what my refund should be, and that I should call her on Monday to see whats happening, I called on Monday and she said nothing is resolved and that shes going to talk to them some more. I called my insurance which is blue cross and blue shield and they told me no one reached out to them until that week, no one contacted them in February or March about the overpayment. Im still waiting for my refund and it is now April 19th, I paid everything upfront before her procedure, so its been more than 3 months now that they have my money, so if you think your insurance might overpaid, dont come here cause it will be a long time before you see your money again.

My partner had his wisdom teeth removed here and I want to clarify that the procedure went well and that he liked the Dr. Lucaci a lot. The issue that arose was with payment. The office collected a large percentage upfront instead of collecting based on a pre-treatment estimate or estimated portion based on BCBS coverage information. We were told that he would receive the difference after Blue Cross had paid and that they sent out checks the first of the month following the insurance payment. The procedure was in February and the insurance payment was sent to them in early/mid March. We never got a single call that there was any issue with the payment, nor did we receive money back. When he contacted the office, he was told that she had all the information and that he would receive a check but that she had sick days she was taking the next week so it would be awhile, which was already unprofessional. We received no further contact and no check. After contacting them again, she told him that insurance overpaid and he would have to wait. We contacted insurance and they verified that the number we had on the EOB was correct and contacted the office, but were told that the office manager was out. Eventually they did talk to the office and told us that they were locked out of their system, but they verified the correct numbers with the office, which matched the EOB. The office manager was texting with him and asked for a copy of our EOB but then never contacted us again after he sent it. Eventually he just had to go to the office and wait for them to handle the situation in person and was finally given a check and told he wasn't the only person dealing with this problem. Which again, isn't his fault or our problem to deal with. I worked in the dentistry field for years and am pretty understanding when it comes to insurance issues. But if you ask your patients to pay more money than necessary and have a policy about when you return their money-- that needs to be a policy that is followed. Hanging onto to over $1000 after you've been paid by insurance, dodging phone calls, and making those patients feel like they're an inconvenience for asking for their own money back in accordance with office policy is wildly unprofessional.

My son had his wisdom teeth removed and the entire staff was wonderful. The office staff, Dr. Lucaci, and his staff provided excellent care for my son and myself while I waited. I would highly recommend Capital Oral Surgery for any oral surgery needs.
