A Thanksgiving to Remember My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Goose Hill Downs. We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing place to spend Thanksgiving, and we definitely found it. It is located on a quiet country road. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable each with a private bathroom. The hosts were wonderful. They were so kind and welcoming, and they made us feel right at home. They also served amazing breakfasts each morning - true farm to table fare! Goose Hill Downs was the perfect place to spend Thanksgiving, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. (And getting to feed Maybelle, the resident cow, each day was a fun treat )

The owners, Renee and Andy, are very knowledgeable of the area and the many motorcycle routes in the area. The beds were super comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding!! A hottub to relax in after long rides and busy days. Very clean, out in the country home away from home setting. Rooms: Clean, large rooms. Nearby activities: Lots of sight seeing stops and fun motorcycle routes to ride. Safety: Quiet area, back in the woods. Food & drinks: Breaksfast was made with fresh foods and outstanding flavors! Noteworthy details: Backroads of Appalachia is a great online access for routes and maps of the area.

Rene and Andy are very gracious and friendly hosts with a lovely property. The rooms are comfortable and clean, breakfast is delicious and there's all sorts of history and cool features if you have the time to explore. We feel like we made new friends. Highly recommend! Rooms: They have 3 rooms in their walkout basement, 2 with private baths and 1 with a hall bath. They are very cozy, clean and comfortable. Nearby activities: Berea has the college and historic Boone Tavern. They have a weekly farmers market year round and are home to the KY Artisan Center. There's a local Civil War reenactment once a year, and a historic cemetery up the road as well as a state park nearby. Noteworthy details: There is a hot tub on the patio and a gazebo with a swing for guests to use. They have the oldest cemetery in the county on their property and also moved a historic cabin here, both of which you're welcome to explore. If you want to visit the farm animals or learn about high tunnel tomato cultivation they are more than happy to show you around.

Rooms: Quiet, cozy, comfortable room with a private bath. Best mattress and wonderful smelling linens. Nearby activities: Wish I would have stayed longer to do more exploring of the Pinnacles and surrounding trails, Berea and the towns many shops, and even the local farmers market. Safety: Completely safe location and felt very secure traveling solo. Food & drinks: You will enjoy the best breakfasts with so much of it homegrown! Was nice to have coffee in the AM and a hot tea to settle into the quiet evenings. Noteworthy details: Ren and Andy are fantastic hosts! So knowledgeable about the area and locally grown foods and goods. Great resource for what to do, see, experience around town. Friendly and warm couple with great pups! Stunning land to take a walk around too!

My wife and I loved our stay here! We were participating in a conference at Berea College, and Goose Hill Downs was a lovely spot to decompress. The bedrooms are spacious, the breakfasts are delicious, and the surroundings were wild and wonderful. Various free-range chickens and Mabel the cow greeted us each time that arrived and departed. Coming from the metroplex of Toronto, this place felt just magical! Rooms: Quite spacious with full windows to the outside! Food & drinks: The host provided a Southern breakfast each morning: scrambled eggs and sausage, French toast casserole on another morning, and a ham-and-egg casserole on the third morning!
