Beware applying online. I am on Disability and was looking for a debt consolidation loan. CreditKarma recommended OneMain with "Excellent Approval Odds". I thought I was applying to prequalify but they ran my credit and added a hard pull on my credit profile. This is partially my fault for not reading all the fine print. I was then informed I was qualified for (of course "up to") $1500 unsecured or $13500 secured but had to actually talk to someone at one of their offices to get final amounts and details. After talking with someone the next day who was nice enough and taking my info to "see what they could do for me" was told they would call me back. Then talking to her again a couple of days later, because I wasn't available the next day (not their fault) I was rather tersley told "Unless you can get someone to apply with you you don't qualify on your income.". Without even "Sorry we couldn't help you.". This issue of my income should have been flagged in a prequalifing stage not after they had already put a hard credit pull on my credit report.

Absolutely horrible customer service! This finance company isn't about relationships they are loan sharks and they just want their money. They are not willing to work with you if you get in a hard spot!! They are all about the fees and trying to get more money out of you. I literally went with general customer service to process my payments for the future because they understand when I want my payments ran when I explain it to them. If you want a finance company that won't listen to what you say and then the payment doesn't go through because of it....this is the place to go. They charged a $60 return fee after I swallowed $64 of fees from my bank when they ran the payment 2 times. If they would've listened to me about when to run the payments that wouldn't have happened. If you get paid bi-weekly it isn't hard to figure out the dates on when to run the payments. All I have to say is listen to the recorded words coming out of their mouth when they set the payments up because they are bound to set it up wrong. Good luck!
