My wife and I are new to Franklin and we were looking to open a local checking account for convenience. We have done business with Regions before when we lived in another town, so logically we had decided to go back with them. The location of this branch is charming as it is set in historic downtown Franklin. We were greeted and asked how can we help you today? by the tellers on duty. We explained we needed to open a new checking account and were told to take a seat and someone would be right with you. After sitting in the lobby for over half an hour (while multiple other customers were seen ahead of us), my wife took a break and I got up to stand in line again. This time I was greeted by a different teller who proceeded to tell me you will need to make an appointment. At this point I was more than a bit irritated and asked why we werent told that over a half an hour ago? The answer was something along the lines of I dont know, would you like to make an appointment for tomorrow? while they were looking up at the clock. At this point it was about 30 minutes until their closing time. I told them no, well find another bank to do business with. Currently we are commuting from two hours away while we work out our new housing so coming two days in a row for something that should take a half an hour is not an option. Based on this experience, we will not being doing our banking with Regions and I would encourage you to look elsewhere if you value customer service and your time.
