Big Red Stables

Emily is such an amazing person. I can honestly say it was the best trail experience I have ever been on. Her property is magical - the rolling hills , the cattle, going through the river it was something out of a movie. And our horses were the coolest horses . They knew exactly what to do at all times . We will defenitly be back for another adventure. Emily has something extremely special that I dont think you can get anywhere else.

Historically, I was extremely happy with Big Red Stables. I and my friend have gone here on two prior occasions to ride their horses around my birthday. Like most places, they require some up front information from you (height, weight, etc...) before they will book your appointment. We sent in all the same information we have sent in previous years but this year we were told we could not come out to ride because we did not meet the height and weight requirements. This is confusing to me because we have ridden in the past and have never experienced any issues. And even with all the same information we have used in prior years, we were denied this year. It was very disappointing to learn how their rules have changed. Horses have carried multiple passengers and equipment for centuries but I guess they no longer have horses that are able to accommodate or they have changed their rules. Be sure to call them before trying to book an appointment so you know your entire family can ride. For the record, I am less than 180 lbs and most places start denying around 250. I guess we will start spending our money elsewhere. Edit: Weak retort. You didn't bother to address that for several years this was okay but suddenly it is not. Also, the fact that your horses cannot handle the weight of an average person is concerning. Are you not taking care of them adequately? Maybe someone should make some calls and have you looked into. Arbitrary rules are suspicious. I have been riding my entire life and this is the first and only time we've been denied. I volunteered for a riding facility and led trail rides. Your rules make no sense and I doubt they are comparable for the area. We will take our money elsewhere.

We had a great time riding here. The scenery was fantastic and Drew and Emily really made sure we were well suited to the horses. My son has special needs but has been horseback riding for many years and they really took a lot of time to make sure he was comfortable. I highly recommend this experience!

This is not your typical (and tiresome) nose-to-tail trail ride! My husband and I travel often and we go horseback riding wherever we visit as much as possible. As an experienced rider, the trotting, cantering, and even galloping over hills with beautiful scenery as a background is an absolute thrill! It feels as though each ride is tailored, where the guide (Emily) interacts with you on the ride, rather than having their nose stuck in their phone. Daisy and Texas were fantastic horses and Emily and Drew are some of the kindest people you will meet, which is often a rarity at other riding places. If I were local, I would be there often. Since I'm not, I'm hoping my Life's path brings me back to Big Red Stables! Highly recommend!
