Nostalgic Cocktail House + Restaurant

Being served a welcome drink upon arrival sets the tone for outstanding service all around. The atmosphere inside and outside stand out as a must visit place for any occasion. Our server was attentive and patient as we were waiting on a few other guest to arrive for a class reunion meeting. We met for drinks and to converse around 830pm. Although I didnt have any food all my friends enjoyed their apps and meals. I will return with my wife on our next night out without the kids. Parking: Bardstown Road so you must find your own parking spot.

The signature cocktails were top-notch. The bartender was personable without being intrusive. The place has a quiet, classy atmosphere. Honestly, it's one of the best bars in the highlands right now.

My husband and i had been here for brunch previously and really enjoyed it. We decided to bring some out of town guests in today and it was not nearly as great an experience. 2 of the 4 ordered steak and eggs. One med one MR. Both steaks were very rare. I ordered the breakfast plate, over easy eggs. One was over med. one was over hard. Theres an amuse of mini fried donuts. Ours were brought out after apps and we were asked to poke one to see if it was too burnt. The one we poked seemed ok but the others were rock hard. I would think if food is suspected to be burnt or improperly cooked, theyd just redo it vs asking us to test it. By the time we were checked on to see if the food was okay, we had finished what we were gonna eat so didnt really have a chance to ask for the food to be corrected. We boxed up the steak to cook up at home as we didnt want to sit and wait for a recook at that point. All kind of minor things that added up and for a close to $200 brunch for four, Id hoped for better. (For reference we ordered a mimosa pitcher for $28, but no other alcohol).
