Horrible We planned this stay for our Son birthday we wanted him to stay in a nice place and we was planning on swimming When we first arrived it seemed really nice The manager came and brought a few free snack items, we discussed the reason for our stay he was friendly, the room was cold & glazing around with a slight eye we thought it was nice after spending $630 for 4 nights and a $200 deposit we found out Moments after the manager left & we begun to explore the building and all that it had to offer us the first thing we was told is that we couldnt use the pool it wasnt in service (our reason for the stay), The parking was horrible we either had to keep feeding the street parking meters or pay $5 for a unsecured parking lot every time you leave you pay $5, our first night here we had to wait 30 mins between shower for everyone to shower because the drains were clogged up with hair, & discovered one of the pillows had a blood stain on it, our second night after having a family day on the town and enjoying the city we come back to lay down and I begin to feel something bite my face, as I turn to look on my pillow Im laying on there is a BIG BED BUG crawling across the pillow it was 11pm they said someone would contact us, at 2:00am we contacted mint house again they offered to put us in another room just for the night (907) which that unit was dirty with hair in the fridge & all over the bed (we took videos) & we are now sitting in our car with 3 kids at 4:30am trying to find another hotel that will let us check in at this time to hear back from management.. This was the worst experience Ive ever had & I WILL NEVER STAY AT THE MINT HOUSE NOR SUGGEST THE PROPERTY AS A GOOD PLACE TO STAY TO ANYONE EVER this was such a disappointment & horrible experience

Room was disgusting. Smelled of burnt food. No on-site parking. Homeless people and hoodlums all over. Stunk so bad they sent someone to clean but didnt change anything we went and got our own cleaning stuff. Shower drain was clogged. Crumbs, hair, and blood stains on pillows and sheets. All around a dump they keep throwing paint over to try and make it look good. Spend your money elsewhere. The only cool thing about this place is the rooftop hangout.

Very dirty everywhere. Floors still dirty from the previous people. Deck outside is broken. So much dust, pillowcases were filthy. The bedcovers smelled very bad. The pool wasnt open the first 2 days I stayed. They also are shutting off water at 9 in the morning to 1 pm tomorrow. The area around the place is very unsafe. Overall, bad place to stay.

I felt the need to write a review after our stay at Mint House at the 800 Towers. This is long, so hang in there. A girlfriend and I made plans to meet in Louisville for some downtime. The main draw to Mint House was the rooftop pool, coupled with an apartment (space) to stay in. We have 11 kids between the two of us, so we could not wait for that pool and some down time! The main purpose to my review is to ease anyones mind who may or may not be having a panic attack from the other reviews because they decided to look them up the day before their trip. If you cant tell, that was my experience. Upon reading some of the awful reviews, my friend and I began to panic thinking we were about to have the worst weekend ever in a dirty, loud, unsafe place. After a call to Mint House reservations the morning of our trip, I was assured the 800 Tower was a great location, but if we had ANY problems they would gladly move us to another location in Louisville. Great customer service!! We really wanted some time at the rooftop pool though, so we decided to hope for the best and check the place out. Upon arrival we were able to pull up to a loading/drop off area and load our bags in. We used the code from our email to enter the building and use the elevator. We got to our room, which is right next to the elevators and used our code to get in. Bracing for the worst, we entered and couldnt believe how spacious the living room was! It was neat, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bedrooms and bathrooms were the same. And the kitchen was perfect because we planned to cookwe even baked a cake! (We brought our own cake pans). The apartment was perfect for our getaway. We were SO relieved! After getting our bags in, we grabbed the very helpful key fobs provided, which eased access to the building and elevator, in lieu of using/remembering the code. We went back to our car and thats where we ran into a little trouble. Parking is complicated. You have to use public parking. There is street parking, but its only 4 hours at a time during the day and youd have to be up early to feed the meter in the morning. Theres a lot just a block down, but the machine you pay at says its only good until midnight. But we did find another optionLouisville has a parking app. We used the GO502 app and we were able to secure parking for 24 hours at a time at the lot just down from the 800 Tower for just $4/day. And the best part, when it was time to pay again, we just used the app to update it for another day. I definitely wish I would have known that before staying, but it was great once we realized we could do that. As far as the area and the people, it is downtown, so there are people who appear to be homeless or down and out. We took a few extra precautions to be safe, but we would have done the same whether it was walking downtown or a grocery store parking lot at night. It wasnt anything that would deter us from staying there again. The apartment was literally perfect for our time. The location is in a very old apartment building thats been updated, so dont be surprised by thick paint, older features, and some wear and tear. Even still, they have done a great job of updating the building. Its unique and tastefully decorated. The stocked kitchen had most everything we needed to make coffee (Keurig), cook meals, make ice, cut fruit and toast bread. We brought some things to be sure we had all we needed (a blender, cake pans), but it was very well stocked. There were paper towels, dish soap, trash bags, a sponge, coffee maker, coffee and fixings, a toaster, tea kettle, silverware, and so much more. And the same for linens and pillows in the rooms and towels and hygiene items in the bathrooms. The rooftop its amazing! The area is so beautifully decorated. There are spaces to hang out and play games, both inside and out. And that rooftop pool, it was all we hoped for! Perfect for two tired mommas enjoying a much-needed relaxing getaway.
