Fantastic meats and good service. They put together some fine hamburgers and marinated chicken, as well as prime cuts of steak and prepped sides and salads

Pricey but nice, good local selection and helpful staff. Deli counter is a nice bite to eat as well.

This is the worst Maxwell's location by far. I stopped in to shop on Saturday around 4. There were two other customers there. The front counter girls were polite, and the butcher counter was prompt. When I went to the deli counter, I waited 10 minutes before anyone ever asked if I wanted to place an order. Three employees walked by during those 10 minutes, none of whom asked if I had been helped. Once I was helped, it took another 10 minutes to 1 pound of deli meat. Several of the employees had earbuds in, even while helping customers, and gave off the body language of it being an inconvenience to serve customers. While I love the products Maxwell's offers, when shopping at a high-end market, the expectation is to receive excellent service. My recent visits have made it clear that subpar service is the standard at this location. I would highly recommend spending the extra five minutes to drive to the Perkins location.

It had been a while since I'd been to Maxwell's, and the last time I went, it was good. I can't say the same for my recent visit. If it were not for the company of my best friend and my priest, this review wouldn't have any stars. The atmosphere of the market is that of a gourmet neighborhood market, and there's an in-house Butcher/Meat Market with fresh, beautiful meats. There is also a delicatessen where one can order a wide array of selections: wraps, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Here's what we ordered and why you shouldn't get them. Before my arrival, I perused the menu to get a feel for what I wanted, and I firmly decided to go for the "Maxwell's Cuban." I wanted it because its description promised something that would look and taste like an authentic Cuban, but it did not deliver. If a Cuban ever under-delivered, it would be this sandwich. The roast pork was mere scraps of what looked and chewed like overcooked pork skin. The ham was slightly fresh...maybe, and there was a unique addition of salami which would probably make it "Maxwell's Cuban." The salami added a little bit more flavor, but not too much. What really made me upset about ordering this was that there was literally one squirt of mayo and mustard on the entire sandwich, and it was NOT, I repeat, NOT pressed with butter on the exterior of the sandwich, which one would expect of a NORMAL Cuban. But, of course, this was "Maxwell's Cuban," so I need to remind myself of that. In summation, I had a dry po'boy with chewy pig skin scraps, slightly fresh ham, and two slices of salami. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I didn't give a shout-out to the pickles and provolone. If you want to be disappointed and saddened by food, order this one. My company had a Bacon Cheeseburger and a Shrimp Wrap. The burger was very overcooked--as well done as well-done can be. The wrap was very "juicy" and made for a "let me eat this as carefully as I can to not get this all over me" eating experience. I secretly wished some of that juice had landed on my Sahara of a sandwich, but we don't always get what we want. The star of the meal was the order of fries that we shared. They were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and tender potato within. Oh, and I can't leave out how a girl walked into the market with a bonnet and pajamas on. I needed a little "look at that" moment to take my mind off this abomination called a Cuban. The only request I have is to please do better. The two stars are for my two friends. The food got zero.
