For over 3 years, I suffered with urinary tract symptoms such as frequent urge to urinate, difficulty starting urination, dribbling, difficulty urinating & incomplete emptying of my bladder. Along with that, & unbeknownst to me, my prostate had become greatly enlarged and my PSA was 95! I ended up in the emergency room with the most severe pain that I had ever experienced; all due to the fact that my prostate had become so enlarged that it cut off my ability to urinate on my own. I needed a foley catheter in order to empty my bladder. Next step was the Urologists office; thats where I met Dr. Omotola Ashorobi. Dr. Ashorobi was courteous, caring & professional. She was extremely patient answering the many questions my wife & I had & took her time to explain everything to us to our satisfaction. After she explained my options I chose the Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). The HoLEP is a type of laser surgery used to treat blockage of urine flow as a result of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I went home the same day. I am proud to say that the outcome from my procedure was exactly as she said. I am fully recovered & functioning at 100% with no side effects. Dr. Ashorobi personally called my home after my surgery to check on me. Along with the great outcome from my procedure I received top-notch care, before, during & after my procedure. I am forever grateful to Dr. Omotola Ashorobi for her excellent skill-set & her advanced training in the HoLEP. Though my wife & I were skeptical & anxious in the beginning, Dr. Ashorobi made believers out of us as she DEFINITELY knows her stuff! Kudos Ochsner on having Dr. Omotola Ashorobi on staff.
