My name is Danette Beard. I tragically lost my son February 21, 2024. His father and I chose Hixsons Funeral Home in Lake Charles and Im so grateful we did. From the moment we first walked in, we were greeted with dignity and respect. Every staff member we came in contact with were polite and courteous. We then met the Funeral Director, Mr. Jared Daigle. I cannot even put into words how kind hearted, compassionate and professional Mr. Daigle has been to myself and my entire family. He was so patient and genuinely kind and gentle and those qualities are few and far between nowadays. He gave me time to grieve, cry and always offered a shoulder to cry on. He put my mind at ease with every question I had. I will forever be grateful to the entire staff of Hixson Funeral Home. They truly went above and beyond to ensure my sons funeral was special. We lost our father suddenly and unexpectedly. The first question we were asked was what funeral home did we want our dad to go toImagine, trying to process this loss and the first question you are asked is about a funeral home. Thankfully, my brother knew of a place that had helped someone he knew in the past. My husband called up Hixson and Sons and they arrived promptly. From the first moment, the staff was absolutely amazing!!! They were so kind and caring, exactly what we needed in that tragic moment. We met with Ms. Kimberly Varner the following Monday to make arrangements and she was beyond beautiful, inside and out. Her loving nature and kind soul made us feel so safe in a space we have never maneuvered through. She kept in constant contact with me helping me with all the intricacies, and she never pressured me about time. I was in the clouds those first few days and weeks after, the staff helped to keep me surface level. The day of the service was scary but I was ready thanks to the staff. Ms. Jody Barrilleaux was incredible and she did a phenomenal job helping us celebrate our beautiful dads life. She even knew my husband from past encounters so that made this experience even more special. I cannot say enough good things about my experience, I could go on and on. Im very pleased, and I would recommend this place over and over again. Thank you for everything!!!
