        First time driving a U Haul ..everything is great..clean truck..easy to drive ..well maintained..the owner was very nice

        Horrible service!!! We booked a truck at the Marksville location and they did not move the truck over from Opelousas for us, so they added another 2 hours to our move just to travel to pick up the van to begin with, however, at least they comped the extra mileage and gave us a few extra days. So my sister calls Opelousas location the day before to confirm the truck and remind them that she is in a domestic violence situation. They told us they would be there from 8 to 12, and when we got there at 8 am, no one was there. We had to call the national number and they told us we could have come at any time with the code they had sent in the email. The domestic violence place had helped us with the booking and they knew this, but did not tell them to forward the emails to us, just that they would be there to help us from 8 to 12. It took us 45 minutes to switch all of the information so that we could have the information we needed to get into the lock boxes for the key. They never informed us we could pick up the vehicle with a code or that we could have come earlier. Luckily, her situation was not as dire as some domestic situations and we were not on a tight schedule to avoid her ex. But this could have been a really dangerous situation for someone who had a tight schedule and just a few hours. We left the building at 9 and still, noone had shown up. Because they did not tell us all the information and we had such a late start, we had to work in the dark to finish our day. Very unacceptable situaution that could have been avoided had we had the right information or the people had actually showed up to work when they should have.
