When I was in first grade, I thought that the rules were harsh. But, I mean, they were a bit strict, but they were to help the children thrive, and not hurt themselves, (because one rule was no running on the playground). Though, I never really understood why the playgrounds were split up the way they were. The 1st graders got their own playgrounds, and so did the girls and boys. The second graders had to share the same playground, though it was split by genders. The girls couldn't go to one side of the playground and the boys couldn't go to the other. Looking back at this I still wonder, "Why did they do that?" Maybe it's bullying from other genders...
