The gentleman working the day I stopped in was very friendly and informed about the items here. This was a one room schoolhouse when it was built in the 1800s. There are a lot of pictures about the history of the area and of the Battleship Ponchatoula. Amazing. I would recommend this to anyone interested in the history of the area. The admission is free, but they do accept donations.

Ms Delores is a book of knowledge, and so passionate about the museum.. we would have talked to her all day. I highly recommend stepping back in time for a moment to enjoy the relics of the past, as well as the employees wonderful character.
