Pro Desk at The Home Depot

No one's perfect, and as you might expect Home Depot is no different, but in general I have been shopping with them for 20 years and they consistently come through. Recent example is I was building a fairly custom shed this past summer, and worked with the pro-desk on both the plans and materials needed. I also spec'd out this shed with two local lumber yards and Lowes. Pricing was wildly different, but after the pro-desk bid the materials list they were still about 20% lower overall cost to the next lowest bid, and 1/2 the price of what the totally inept Lowe's pro-desk had quoted. All the members of Home Depot Pro-desk were pleasant and tried to be helpful, the first person I worked with was fairly new and I ended up working with the manager, who was absolutely great.
Bear in mind I am a fairly knowledgeable and experienced DIY'er not a contractor so estimating a big job like this is not something that I'm used to doing. Although I made a few design changes that required a second delivery, this was easily accomplished by adding it to special order roofing delivery that was scheduled about a week after the initial lumber delivery. I now have a great looking and extremely serviceable for my specific needs shed.
