They have a good model, nice website and send pictures and notes during the day but are not willing to work with children who don't listen the first time. They send children home daily when they don't efficiently lay down and take a nap. They also do not follow current State of Maine licensing regs. Historically, I have encouraged families to bring their children there because I heard a few good stories. The families that shared those experiences no longer send their children there. Unfortunately, this has just caused upheaval for these families and I do not recommend this facility to any one who has a typical child who challenges limits. They charge 300.00 a week and send the kids home on a daily basis.

My daughter has been going here for almost 2 years now and I cant imagine her going anywhere else. If they had a K-6 school she would be first on the list. We tried another daycare in Augusta and it went horrible. Shes a Covid baby and had a lot of separation anxiety. I almost just stayed home because I felt defeated. But I found The Curious Caterpillar and Emily the owner was incredibly friendly. She spent almost an hour talking to me on the phone. When she first started drop off was rough but they were willing to try anything and everything to help her settle in. If she stayed extremely emotional they would message me letting me know and sometimes recommend she be picked up early (as stated in a previous comment) but their reasoning was valid and they were only looking out for my daughters emotional well being. After a couple months of sometimes having to pick her up early, she started to love it. She really bonded with a couple teachers and they would talk about her like she was one of their own. Now my daughter cries when I pick her up because she wants to stay and play with her friends, shes constantly saying I cant wait to show Miss Kayla this she named some of her Barbies after some of her teachers there. They update an application throughout the day with your childs meals, naps, activities (which they do A LOT of really amazing learning / fun activities.) log every single accident no matter how small (stubbed toe) which is actually reassuring. I really cant say enough about this daycare! They feel like family
