Maine Primitive Skills School

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I love this place. This transformative school doesn't just teach you primitive skills; this school teaches you how to connect with yourself, reflect on your perspectives as a modern human, and make new friends while having fun in the woods. I've taken two 5-day courses so far, and I look forward to many more. My wife joined in after my first class. Highly recommended!

As soon as I walked into the warm and cozy base lodge that smelled of firewood and nature, I knew I was in the right place. Mike has created a special atmosphere and cultivated his land with deep love. I did the 2-day winter survival skills course. It was great learning with a team with skill, knowledge, and authenticity. They highlight the importance of learning in community which means you also get to bond with the other open-minded students. I highly recommend MPSS, this course, and the community.

This place is the best! Micheal Douglas and his wonderful family are the best! Mike cares about his craft, creating a community, and passing down primitive skills from one generation to the next. Hands down this is one of the best wilderness and survival schools you could ever attend.
