Yellow House Bed & Breakfast

This is a beautiful house with very spacious, clean rooms, delicious complimentary cocktails around the fireplace in the evenings, and generous free snacks in the kitchen. The only disappointment was the unappetizing breakfast. Pre-shelled hard boiled eggs. The kind youd buy at the grocery store in a plastic bag. Overnight oats were mediocre at best. Blueberry pastry tasted pre frozen and then underbaked. Considering how lovely this place is, its a shame to offer such low quality food that falls far below the standard of an otherwise wonderful experience.

What a lovely B&B. Sara is an amazing host and fabulous baker! We enjoyed our clean, beautiful spacious rooms, the lovely porch & fire pit. The location to downtown is perfect. Would definitely stay again and will recommend to our friends.

The perfect escape! We stayed in The Belmont for 5 nights to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary and had the best time. So many subtle details make this the perfect bed and breakfast. If you are looking for quiet and peaceful but in the heart of town with plenty of excursions and adventure waiting at the doorstep... just go ahead and book the Yellow House. We loved the room, the decor, the blueberry croissants for breakfast were our favorite, the happy hour wine and blueberry margaritas, the 24 hour snack pantry, watercolors on the porch with Sara, playing games, nightly walks down the shore path (a 2 minute walk away), excursions into town for some dang good food, nightly chats around the fire pit and best of all just a ten minute drive to get to Acadia with access to all the hiking and adventure you can hope to squeeze into a week. It truly felt like home! Seriously, couldn't have dreamed up a better stay. The smell of evergreens and salt air will linger in our memories for a while. Thank you Sara and we hope to make it back. Rooms: The room was great, loved the decor and the clawfoot tub for my wife was an added bonus. Can't say you're going to want to spend a ton of time inside though! Nearby activities: Hiking was incredible! I wish I were still going on a daily hike. We did a different hike every day. Loved The Precipice Trail for an adventure, the Jordan Pond loop for a stroll, the Bar Island trail was walkable from the bed and breakfast at low tide and all the others. We did a sunset cruise around the harbor and saw 20 Bald Eagles, dolphins, seals and learned more about the island. Plenty of shopping, restaurants (Havana was our favorite) and bars right outside the Inn door. Safety: Never felt unsafe anywhere. Walkability: Everything is walkable outside of getting into the heart of Acadia. Restaurants, bars, sightseeing, hiking are all within a few minutes walk. Noteworthy details: I would say one of the most refreshing things was that nobody was over hovering or intrusive. Sara was available and super friendly and helpful, but you could just be. I think that is what made it feel like home.

Such a lovely B&B! Sara is a warm and gracious host. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is quiet with a beautiful porch and garden, yet close to the center of Bar Harbor. This was our second stay at the Yellow House and we will be back.
