Quick in and out Visit.... The only problem was that the doctor didn't seem to know what the heck he was talking about..... They need more (or better) doctors.

Dr. Erin Wilkes refused to perform a simple ear exam on my niece even after a request from her pediatrician. She also hinted that we were waisting hospital resources and her time. My niece is 1 years old with a fevor for 3 days.

This community has a false sense of security with this hospital and ER. Calais should have a walk in clinic not a hospital where the care is very substandard . The revolving doctors and understaffed nursing leaves patients without adequate and consistent care. Nursing homes are overburdened and understaffed and with no empty beds patients are in the ER for weeks and longer in some cases and while waiting they have low priority in ER. My father received inconsistent care and was sent home without us being told he had a significant change of condition three days before discharge. He passed away the next day at a different hospital after we were not able to accept him from the ambulance transport when he arrived home due to his critical condition. We were at the Calais ER every day except the last three as we were preparing for him to come home. That we didnt even receive a phone call from the ER is heartbreaking. The information given to the ambulance EMT from the ER nurse was the information we should have had 3 days prior.
