Did a 4 day trip. Everything was fantastic. Great Captain. Wonderful crew. Great food. We did a few trips off the boat that were awesome. This is a very old boat so it is not a cruise ship, but if you go on a trip you will likely book for next year.

We just returned from an incredible experience on the Lewis R. French. Sailing with Captain Becky, Nathan, and the entire crew made this trip one for the books! We met new friends, learned about sailing, ate amazing food, and just relaxed while enjoying the coast of Maine. Lobster bake on an island, kayaking, hiking- what an adventure!

We just returned from a 3 night cruise with Captain Becky and her crew aboard the Lewis R French. We relaxed, ate some great food, and learned a lot about sailing and the seafaring history of Maine. It was a well thought out schedule of events that included island hopping, swimming, a clam bake, shore excursions, and as much hands-on sailing as we cared to do. A special shout out to O.B. who makes amazing meals on a wood stove in a closet sized galley; everything was fresh, unique, and scratch-made. This is a top notch outfit I would recommend to anyone interested in hands-on sailing and historic wooden ships. Note that this is not a luxury cruise; the cabins are neat but what you expect for a working ship launched in the 1870s (tiny) and the bathrooms are shared. Pack lightly, and don't expect to be waited on :).
