Darrell did a basement remodel for us this year, and we could not have been happier with the process and the end result. The quality of craftsmanship is truly impressive, both the work he did himself and the work that he subbed out. When something wasn't up to his high quality standards (in our case, the first paint job), he had it redone at his own cost. He lead the process from start to finish, and we had minimal disruptions to our lives as the work was going on. At the same time, he was responsive to our needs and requests if things changed. He was able to take our vision, make it better, and execute it flawlessly. We are already using Darrell again for another project, and feel so lucky to have found him!

Thankfully I did not end up using Darrell but my experience with him was terrible. We agreed on a job a few months ago but he refused to write up any kind of contract or scope of work or any details. 3 days before we were supposed to start work I get a text saying he cant do the job. We have a quick phone call where he throws every excuse in the book at me as far as why he cant then miraculously he can for twice as much budget, which he wants upfront before any work is done. After exploring alternatives I went with someone else at which point he started sending harassing text messages. This was so inconsistent with other reviews hes had, which makes me question the veracity of those reviews.

We've known Darrell for many years, and he has done several large projects for us. Most recently, he created a new master bedroom and bathroom by completely remodeling the existing space. Ours is an older home, and this required significant creativity and design work on Darrell's part. He then remodeled space in the basement to create a new office space. Darrell listened to what we wanted, then made it happen. He is meticulous, and the results were amazing. We highly recommend Darrell. We hired Darrell to finish our basement with the goal to use the space as a large family area/playroom. We are beyond happy with the quality of Darrell's work. It is now a favorite space for the kids to hangout and play. Throughout the process Darrell was a great communicator and listener. Once he starts to work on your project, you are his focus. He works with you from the start to design your project based on your vision. He uses computer-based software and shares the drawings with you, so everything is transparent and easy to make changes, if needed. Darrell is professional, very detail oriented, shows up everyday and most importantly, he responds in a timely fashion. Darrell does almost all of the work himself and when he did use subs, their work (floor, electrician, plumbing, painting) was also excellent. Everyone that helped throughout the project was great. Darrell and his trusty sidekick, Bruno the dog, were polite and patient while entertaining many conversations from not only our children, but basically all the neighborhood kids haha.
